GameStop's Preorders For Nintendo Switch are Sold Out

While the official presentation of the Nintendo Switch took place Friday morning, we learn a little more about the new removable controllers of Nintendo.

Detailing the Nintendo Switch's brand new online subscription service, the President of Nintendo America Reggie Fils-Aime spoke to IGN stating that "we need to offer, both to consumers well as to developers, a more robust set of opportunities from an online perspective and that's what we're looking to do". Nintendo's PR assistant manager David Young confirmed this via Eurogamer, explaining that the lack of StreetPass comes down to the idea that the Switch itself is primarily a home console before it's a handheld system. There are a lot of questions surrounding the Switch's ability to be a serious contender in a market that already features much more powerful systems in the PS4 and Xbox One, but Nintendo has made a compelling case for the Switch in the early going that should carry it to early success.

Although Nintendo promises 20-hours of life-force from the Joy-Cons, this could prove an inconvenience to gamers.

Over the weekend, GameStop announced in a press release that its first shipment of the Nintendo Switch sold out, completely. Although whether or not the Switch can catch on to that extent at its current price is something that remains to be seen.

"I think there's a sense that Nintendo Switch is a portable device". Let us know in the comments. We've done this before, managing two different systems. Game Rant reports that the Switch console will have a 6.2-inch, 720p multitouch display with a 1280x720p resolution.
