GRRM Will Release Pages In 2017, Just Not The Right Ones

"Fifteen original tales celebrating fantasy's golden age of sword and sorcery, including a new story from George RR Martin set in the world of A Game of Thrones!". I think it will be out this year. However, he also quipped that he also thought of the same past year. Early previous year, GRRM discussed his problems in finishing Winds of Winter before 2016. Hopefully, the new short story will give the many patiently waiting A Song of Ice and Fire readers something to talk about-about until Winds of Winter is finally released.

The Winds Of Winter, the sixth novel in Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire series which inspired the hit TV show, has been in the works for several years.

Titled Book of Swords, George RR Martin's new tales will be released later this year, according to Amazon listing.

Meanwhile, HBO recently released the first trailer for the seventh season of Game of Thrones. Martin is aiming to release the book in its entirety later this year. Hughes posted on his website November 24, 2015, that he had been contacted about contributing to Book of Swords.

The book is expected to come out on October 10 and is edited by renowned sci fi writer and editor Gardner Dozois, who has won 14 Hugo Awards throughout his career. The other possibility is that author announces the release of the book at that time, and suggests the fans pick up "Book of Swords" while they wait.

Mindset, author of the tumblr Nobody ever suspects the butterfly, seems to have put more thought into this than anyone (he or she mods two other ASOIAF fan sites) and has some ideas on what the story might be. The old pages might be a new Dunk and Egg story (probably not!) or a piece of already-written, yet-to-be-published Targaryen family history from a potentially upcoming book Fire and Blood (we can speculate about that one after my man finishes books six and seven). It is uncertain though if the short story will play a crucial role in the events of the book version of Winds of Winter.
