Thousands march through London against Donald Trump's state visit

Thousands of protesters on Saturday demonstrated outside the U.S. Embassy in London against American President Donald Trump over his temporary ban on refugees and nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering U.S. Members of the crowd bore placards and shouted slogans in support of refugees and criticising Islamophobia, amid growing concerns extreme-right politics are becoming normalised in the US.

It is unacceptable to have people protesting against President Trump saying, "Trump will destroy America", when they are doing it themselves time after time maybe without realizing it.

A few days ago the U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting in Washington with the British Prime Minister Theresa May, the first world leader who visited the White House for negotiations with the newly elected POTUS, and that does have a reasonable explanation.

The march was organised by the Stop the War Coalition, Stand up to Racism and others.

Over 1.8 million people in the United Kingdom signed a petition calling on the state visit to be revoked because it would cause "embarrassment to the Queen". "Theresa May's collusion with Trump must end".

Both petitions will be debated in parliament on February 20, 2017.

Marchers called on Theresa May to withdraw her controversial invitation of a state visit to Mr Trump and denounced his travel ban as "racist".

He adds: "While I understand the need to remain on good terms with the American President I do not think it does our reputation around the globe any good to be seen as silent accomplices". Trump wrote on Twitter.

"When a country is no longer able to say who can, and who cannot, come in & out, especially for reasons of safety &. security - big trouble!" he tweeted.
