Klopp Rules Henderson, Sturridge Out Of Burnley Clash; Firmino Doubtful

Klopp Rules Henderson, Sturridge Out Of Burnley Clash; Firmino Doubtful

Sean Dyche is disappointed that Burnley let a one-goal lead slip to lose 2-1 against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are separated by only three points, but Jurgen Klopp's side have played a match more than their rivals. Liverpool's top four hopes will hang in the balance.

Liverpool beat the Premier League's worst travellers 2-1 at Anfield thanks to Emre Can's second-half victor.

It's the competition that produces the greatest games in history at times, it's the stage for the world's best players, best managers and best teams.

It may have brought a modicum of revenge for August's loss at Turf Moor, where Burnley contrived to win despite having just 18 percent of possession. New customers only. T&Cs apply.

They are unbeaten in 17 Premier League home games against promoted sides since losing to Blackpool in the 2010-11 campaign (W12, D5).

"People say I don't have a plan B or whatever".

"Sturridge and Henderson are not available", the Liverpool boss confirmed.

The Merseyside giants have only finished in the top four once in the last seven seasons (a certain Luis Suarez had a lot to do with that), and in four of those seasons, they ended up outside the top six.

It remains to be seen if Roberto Firmino will be fit to play.

Emre Can turned the match on its head with Liverpool's second just after the hour, as the home side scored with their first two shots on target and that proved enough for Klopp's men to close within a point of third-placed Manchester City, who they play at the Etihad Stadium next week.

Do you think Liverpool will finish in the top three of the EPL this season, HollywoodLifers? That's really hard, so we had a lot of specialists around to try to find it out but the situation was like this, not 'OK, go on holiday for four weeks.' It looks like we found a solution now and he doesn't have these problems anymore. A key question for Liverpool will be if they can replicate their success against the league's best teams against the league's lesser sides. Decidedly on the back foot, Klopp's starters tried but failed to exert consistent pressure on Heaton's goal.

"I think everyone would agree that it was good to have the points against Liverpool earlier in the season in the bag and getting that first win".

Philippe Coutinho was substituted off in the 60th minute during Liverpool's win against Burnley - and the club's supporters were highly critical of the attacker on Twitter.

Offensively, Sadio Mané was a solitary bright spot for Liverpool in the first half, putting his pace to good use and creating some of the few nervy moments for Burnley's defenders in the first half.
