The Election Centre: Modi Government's Benares Push

The Election Centre: Modi Government's Benares Push

"Blatant lies, jumlas and disinformation have become the hallmark of India's Prime Minister".

The Congress tore into Prime Minister Narendra Modi last night for "lying" after he alleged Rahul Gandhi referred to "coconut water" as "coconut juice" - Rahul's party released a video saying he said "narangi juice" which means "orange juice" and not "nariyal juice".

"Modiji does not want people of Manipur and northeastern states to progress and participate in India's growth story".

PM Modi also targeted Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over his "Make in Manipur" pitch.

He also said that by "abusing known economists, Modiji can not hide the truth and the truth is that incompetence and malgovernance have become the hallmark of of Modiji's type of functioning". At an election rally in Maharajganj in UP, the Prime Minister seized upon the ruling Samajwadi Party's election slogan "kaam bolta hain" (work speaks for itself) to conclude: "UP govt ki website pe bataya gaya hain life in UP is short and uncertain". He recently went to Manipur to address an election rally. He told the people that he want to see London having coconut juice and using other "Made in Manipur" goods. Leaders have even launched personal attacks and some have been prone to gaffes.

"Modiji has waived off loans worth Rs 1,40,000 crore of the 50 rich families of the country, but has betrayed the farmers and the youth", said Gandhi during a public rally here.

The saffron party which has a lot at stake in the last two phases of polling scheduled for March 4 and 8 has moved its war room to Varanasi, entrusting Union ministers and senior leaders with the task of strengthening the campaign with the Prime Minister in the vanguard. Modiji has lowered the dignity of the office of the Prime Minister that he holds and he should be ashamed about it.
