Back to basics for the Call of Duty series

Back to basics for the Call of Duty series

The official reveal for the next Call of Duty that will fail to live up to whatever game in the series you prefer is set for April 26, but we're already learning details about it thanks to some "leaks". While this leak comes just a couple of days before the big reveal, it's enough to get us hyped for more information this coming Wednesday at 10 A.M. PDT.

The multiplayer details includes the maps that gamers can expect which are based on well-known locations of World War 2 battles. It was also noted that prior to "Advanced Warfare", the developer had been working on a Vietnam-era video game which was eventually scrapped when Activision endorsed the studio to one of its three regular "Call of Duty" developers.

In the video, Schofield, on location in Berlin for a game development talk, said, "I really want to thank the fans and everybody for the wonderful reaction, the positive reaction and the outpouring of support for our game".

"Players enlist in a gritty intense journey through the battlegrounds of war".

"Experience classic Call of Duty combat, the bonds of camaraderie, and the unforgiving nature of war against a global power throwing the world into tyranny".

"Call of Duty: WWII tells the story of an unbreakable brotherhood of common men fighting to preserve freedom in a world on the brink of tyranny". This literally feels like being part of a blockbuster and cinematic movie.

And like any Call of Duty, it wouldn't be complete without multiplayer, but on top of the usual Multiplayer mode, WW2 looks to be mixing it up with a new co-operative mode.

We do know that Call of Duty: WWII will feature the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. This will be a "standalone game experience", the copy says, suggesting that it isn't an optional mode within the game's main campaign. They will literally experience an unexpected, adrenaline pumping gameplay.

What's more, there will reportedly be a "private beta" for Call of Duty: WW2, available to people who preorder.
