BTS Receives First Billboard Music Awards Nomination For Top Social Artist

Drake and the Chainsmokers have tied for the all-time record for most nominations at the Billboard Awards.

There was no "Top Rock Tour" category in 2016, but Taylor Swift snagged the win for Billboard's "Top Touring Artist" a year ago against Madonna, One Direction, The Rolling Stones and U2. As it turns out, with the pair dominating a number of categories, the music awards will seemingly be the celebration of Drake and Rihanna.

The Billboard Music Awards nominees are based on measurements made by Billboard and its data partners, which include Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.

Meanwhile, Twenty One Pilots and Rihanna round out the top nominees with 17 and 14 nominations respectively. In the "Top Touring Artist" category, they're up against Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Coldplay and Guns N' Roses, while "Top Rock Tour" sees them battling Coldplay and Guns N' Roses. And their final nod came in the Top Rock Tour category, where they square off against Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band.

The 2017 Billboard Music Awards air on May 21 at 8PM on ABC.

"Drizzy is also on the board with his Wizkid & Kyla smash "One Dance", while Bruno Mars checks in with "24K Magic" and The Weeknd's hook up with Daft Punk, "Starboy", rounds out the category".
