Instagram for Android now works offline, iOS may be next

Facebook-owned Instagram has finally got offline mode which mainly targeted at low-bandwidth places.

In the meantime, Instagram is rolling out support for offline functions that will allow the user to make comments, save media, unfollow other users, and like things on Instagram without needing an active internet connection.

At its F8 developer conference, Facebook made a bunch of exciting announcements relating to Augmented Reality and even for Messenger, however, another really interesting announcement was regarding Instagram. This includes profiles that were visited and old versions of the Explore tab. Stories for instance, a feature the company copied from Snapchat; helped the company to add a lot of users within the past few months. The user engagement will go up especially in the areas with spotty network or unstable internet connection like developing countries. What happens here is that offline users will continue to be able to see content that was previously loaded on Instagram's feed.

Instagram has not only copied Stories from Snapchat, it has succeeded in reinventing the feature; attracting millions of people daily.

As for now, there's no word on when exactly will be getting the Instagram update. As soon as your phone connects back to the internet, anything you've created, commented on, liked or saved, while offline will be instantly sent to Instagram's servers and uploaded or carried out. Instagram offers you a profile in which you can share and receive the stuff you want, you can share your stuff with the whole world with just a click. Google Play Music uses artificial intelligence to cache music it believes you will like.
