Kashmiri Youth Attack CRPF Jawans On Poll Duty, Video Goes Viral

The video surfaced a day after the polling in which some CRPF personnel were seen walking down a street while being heckled, kicked and punched by youths, setting off a nationwide outrage. The video also shows the CRPF jawans stay calm and avoid retaliation though they were armed.

However, questions were raised on Friday when a video of a man tied to an army jeep did the rounds on social media. The audacity of the attacks that have not been provoked by the jawans has enraged many.

He was referring to the video that has also gone viral in which a group of youth are manhandling the CRPF jawan.

The video clip allegedly showed a Kashmiri youth tied to the front of a moving vehicle of the security forces as a human shield against stone-pelters.

JK Director General of Police SP Vaid told Kashmir Reader that a case had been registered in the recorded incident of the CRPF trooper shooting point-blank at a youth.

Singh said the low polling percentage in the recent by-poll in Kashmir was a matter of concern and added that "something would be done to improve the situation". This requires an urgent inquiry & follow up NOW! Omar represents Beerwah seat in the state assembly.

Meanwhile, the Tehreek-e-Mazahmat spokesman in his statement in Srinagar, reacting to remarks of Indian home minister, said that such threats could not subdue the freedom sentiment of the people of Kashmir and the liberation movement would be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs. "This is just so shocking". "We need to see the other story as well", Vaid said.

Terming the display of acts in the videos as unacceptable, Mehbooba asked the police to submit a detailed report about these incidents to her so that necessary action is initiated.
