Pepe Reina hails Emre Can's spectacular goal for Liverpool against Watford

Liverpool ran out 6-1 winners against Watford in the reverse fixture at Anfield back in November, however, Walter Mazzarri's men have won their last three consecutive home games in the Premier League.

A Daryl Janmaat cross almost caught out Simon Mignolet in the closing minutes as Watford upped the pressure in the closing moments, but to no avail, with a Sebastian Prodl volley cannoning off the crossbar in the final seconds of added time.

A Liverpool win tonight would see the Reds move five points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United and three ahead of Manchester City in fourth.

The talented Brazilian hobbled off in the 13th minute of Monday night's trip to Watford following a clash with Adrian Mariappa.

The injuries took the sting out of the opening exchanges, but Can nearly brought some much-needed life to proceedings with a well-struck left-footed effort from 25 yards that Heurelho Gomes parried to safety on his 100th consecutive league appearance.

Jurgen Klopp's side went close to taking the lead when Lallana crunched a left-footed volley from 25 yards over Gomes and onto the bar.

Lallana was outdone by Can's effort on the stroke of half-time, though.

However, Watford could have drawn level when Etienne Capoue struck towards goal, but Simon Mignolet tipped the ball over at full stretch.
