Rajinikanth says system is corrupt, hints at entry into Tamil Nadu politics

Rajinikanth says system is corrupt, hints at entry into Tamil Nadu politics

"God made me an actor and I promise Rajini will never ever disappoint his fans in acting", he added.

"Go home and do your work. We will see when the war comes", said the superstar even as the packed audience burst into wild applause.

"In the old days, all men would go when there was a war", he added, according to NDTV.

Amid expectations from his fans who have been for always been waiting an announcement from him on his political entry, Rajinikanth, quipped, "go back to your places and attend to your work and duties".

"Cho Ramamswamy used to say that Stalin will do wonders if he is given a free hand". Yes, there are (other) leaders: (DMK's M K) Stalin is there, my good friend (and) the best administrator. Seeman (Naam Tamizhar Katchi leader) is a fighter. But, the system itself is rotten. "Then why do people want him in politics?", Katju wrote in his blog.

"The system needs to be changed. We should change the system". Rubbishing the outsider tag, Rajinikanth said he is a pure Tamil now despite his origins from Karnataka. So I am a pacha Thamizhan (true-blooded Tamil). I was in Karnataka only for 23 years. "I have spent 44 years in Tamil Nadu". All of you supported me, gave me a good name, lots of money and fame. Rajinikanth's latest ambivalent comments on the possibility of his political venture has triggered curiosity among his fans and political leaders in the State. In an apparent reading that Rajinikanth would not join the BJP, Thirunavukkarasar said "The actor would not join any national party, but would form his own outfit". "He has no idea or the qualification to be CM".

Given that it has taken him more than 20 years to even openly talk about politics again, since he burnt his fingers in 1996, it is no surprise that Superstar Rajinikanth is a fan of gradualism.

Going a step further, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said, "By merely wearing a black shirt, he can not become a Dravidian leader, since he is a Marathi".

Tamilians also have a history of welcoming with open arms non-Tamilians into their politics. And it could be just around the corner, for those who have watched him for decades believe that this is the biggest hint that he has ever given indicating that he will join politics.

However, whenever his fans have been vocal or proactive about his political plunge, the actor has either remained silent or distanced himself away from the topic.
