Twitter Is Dragging Dove For Their Body Shape Body Wash Bottles

The company has rolled out "limited edition" body wash in the United Kingdom packaged in bottles of various shapes, the idea being that women come in various shapes, too. Well-intentioned or not, the message behind all of these campaigns is the same we've always heard: Be lovely.

Dove recently launched their "Real Beauty Pledge", a set of three statements to mark 60 years since the launch of the brand. But no, the company celebrated (and slammed) for its "Real Beauty" campaign more than a decade ago, has actually introduced "Real Beauty Bottles". Some even thought the bottles were fine as they were and Dove just tried to fix something that wasn't even broken in the first place. And, presumably, when it can't, it just uses a series of molds that women are supposed to fit themselves into.

Numerous videos on the Dove website and YouTube challenge and check people's preconceived notions about what beauty is and why women are their own worst critics, among other issues related to body image.

Perhaps Dove forgot that the very point of inclusion is to speak to women of all different shapes and sizes in the same way, and not based on what their bodies look like?

Known to for its sensitive campaigns, Dove ads, in the past, has been appreciated by all. There are six in total, ranging from tall to short, curvy to skinny.

You know, so you can buy your body wash according to your body type.

That's right, precious little snowflakes, you can now have a body wash bottle that reflects the shape of your body. "Women don't need to be categorised all the time".

While some said they loved the idea. We see this in the backlash to all-male panels, the acceptance of an African-American Barbie even among those ideologically opposed to the doll, and fashion and beauty advertising moving-albeit at a glacial pace-to include more ethnicities and body shapes.
