Watch Harry Styles shed 'cool' tears in 'Carpool Karaoke'

Watch Harry Styles shed 'cool' tears in 'Carpool Karaoke'

The former One Direction singer is nearing the end of his week-long guest stint on Corden's The Late Late Show in the USA, which has seen the "Sign of the Times" artist perform and participate in sketches and interviews every night.

For his performance, the single played without a band; instead, he accompanied his impressive vocal range with an acoustic guitar that he played himself.

We've been waiting a whole week for this, but Harry Styles' Carpool Karaoke is FINALLY here - and it's everything we could have imagined.

"It makes me cry performing it sometimes, I find it quite emotional", said Styles.

The two of them followed up their first emotional scene with another touching one: the rendition of another one of Styles' new songs called Sweet Creature which he admitted it's his mom's favorite track off his latest self-titled album. "I went somewhere - emotionally I was elsewhere".

"I'm going to give you some lines [to read]".

One thing that's been refreshing about Harry Styles' solo debut has been its complete unconcern with perceptions of masculinity. The latter prompted some bickering over who would be who, though Harry was adamant (let's just say it gave James another opportunity to try out his falsetto). "I can't quit you", jokes Corden, before saying "I need to have a chat with your wife".

"Of course the big story today is that Donald Trump shared secret information with the Russians last week", Styles said. "Why am I always Julie Roberts?".

It was their cover duet of Harry's favourite song Endless Love which stole the show though, with Harry crooning away as Lionel Richie as James leapt into a thoroughly impressive Diana Ross falsetto.

In true rock and roll fashion, the segment draws to a close with Styles' Kiwi, during which the pair head-bang and bash the vehicle roof.
