Modern Warfare Remastered finally gets a stand-alone release

Modern Warfare Remastered finally gets a stand-alone release

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is out now as a standalone release today, available first on PlayStation 4 as a physical copy and digital download via the PlayStation Network. Fans who want to own the variety map pack that released earlier this year will need to shell out an additional $15 in order to obtain the complete experience. This re-release sports a handful of upgrades, including new higher resolution textures, lighting and rendering upgrades, enhanced sound effects, and a few quality of life upgrades.

All things considered, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered being offered as a standalone release will undoubtedly excite the franchise's fan base, but it's worth stating that the game should have been sold this way all along instead of it having been coupled with Infinite Warfare.

Other platforms will follow at a later date.

One of the all-time greatest Call of Duty titleswill be available as a standalone game next week.

The five-week celebration begins June 27 and will feature in-game giveaways, XP events and new playlists across multiple titles. Xbox One and PC versions will be available later down the line.

Now that we know the standalone Call of Duty 4 Remastered release is actually happening, it's time to look at what you get with this game. If that's more your style, you can preorder it now on the Xbox Store. "We can't wait for next Tuesday to introduce a new map and new game content, and play with the community". Modern Warfare had some memorable missions, such as "All Ghillied Up", "Charlie Don't Surf", and "Crew Expendable".
