Woman accused of leak indicted, faces detention hearing

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - A federal judge ordered a young woman charged with leaking classified US documents to remain jailed until her trial after prosecutors argued Thursday she might possess more stolen government secrets. The hackers are believed to have then used data from that operation to create a new email account to launch a spear-phishing campaign targeting US local government organizations, the document said.

"She was afraid she was going to disappear, that [the government was] going to make her disappear", Winner-Davis said.

A 25-year-old government contractor for a USA intelligence agency has been charged with sending classified material on Russian hacking to an online news outlet last month.

"If she made this mistake", Davis said, referring to the leaked documents, "it needs to be balanced against what she has done in the past and how she has served this country". However, by June 3, victor had already confessed, according to special agent Garrick, apparently admitting to removing the classified reports and mailing them to The Intercept.
