'Badly Behaved' Justin Bieber Reportedly Banned From China to 'Purify' Performance Environment

'Badly Behaved' Justin Bieber Reportedly Banned From China to 'Purify' Performance Environment

The statement was prompted by a Chinese fan, He Wenrui, who demanded to know, in a post on the culture bureau's website: "Why don't mainland fans get the right to appreciate him?" But due to the controversies that surrounded his life, the Chinese government believed Bieber would not be a good example to its people.

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has been barred from performing in China over his "bad behaviour", the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture said in a recent posting on its website.

Mr. Bieber joins a growing list of Western entertainers who have been blacklisted in China.

Chinese authorities have confirmed that Justin Bieber will not be able to perform in the country until they are convinced that his behavior has improved.

"To regulate the domestic entertainment market and purify its environment, we find it inappropriate to bring in performers with bad behaviors".

Bieber is traveling to Asia for the latest leg of his Purpose World Tour, but no venues in mainland China have been set for his performances.

Bieber's lifestyle overseas and his "words and actions" when he last performed in China had generated "public dissatisfaction", Beijing's Municipal Bureau of Culture said, without specifying what behaviour had caused offense.

In 2013, Bieber has been shown on stage stripping to reveal his bare torso, carried up to the Great Wall of China and riding a segway shirtless in media coverages throughout the star's visit.

The singer had also had to apologise for taking a photograph in front of the controversial Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo.

Bieber is not the only Western artist that has been banned in the country.

However, it seems that the possibility of performing there in the future isn't entirely of the question. Also, once publicly had a conversation with the Dalai Lama.

Oasis were also forbidden from performing in 2009 after Noel Gallagher gave a Free Tibet concert in New York City, though Liam Gallagher has seemingly been forgiven as he has shows scheduled in Beijing and Shenzhen next month.
