Grassley to call former Trump campaign chairman before Senate committee

Grassley to call former Trump campaign chairman before Senate committee

"I am not going to tell you now".

The move comes one day after Grassley announced that he will be calling former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort to testify before the committee.

A person close to Manafort said that he hasn't yet received a letter from the committee about a possible interview. "I think it's been lackadaisical enforcement, and he would be an example of that lackadaisical enforcement".

It's likely the questioning of Manafort might extend beyond the foreign agent act to probe the more recent allegations.

Manafort discovered a meeting of the Senate and the House intelligence committee, which looked at possible coordination between the Russian and the Trump campaign, for example, Robert Mueller, a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who was named Special Advisor to the Department of Justice.

Trump Jr. said Tuesday he would be "happy" to work with a Senate Intelligence Committee now investigating alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election after he himself acknowledged meeting a Kremlin-linked lawyer during his father's campaign.

In a statement Tuesday, Trump's eldest son said he was posting the emails "in order to be totally transparent".

Grassley has questions about whether Veselnitskaya should have been registered and whether the foreign agent act is being properly enforced.

According to the Former Russian prosecutor, Natalie Veselnitskaya, she was initially denied a U.S. Visa to enter the county but was later given immigration parole.

"This raises serious questions about whether the Obama administration authorized her to remain in the country, and if so, why?"

From the secretaries, Grassley requested "all visa records and associated documentation" for Veselnitskaya.

Feinstein, the California Democrat, is the Judiciary Committee's vice chair.

A former assistant attorney general overseeing the criminal division under President George W. Bush, Wray now works as a criminal defense lawyer based in Washington, D.C.

Grassley said there will be a hearing within days on the lax enforcement. "From what I've seen so far from meetings with Mr. Wray and from looking at his record, he appears to possess these qualifications".

President Trump said that "most people would have taken that meeting", contradicting his incoming Federal Bureau of Investigation director's testimony that Donald Trump Jr should have instead alerted authorities.
