Klopp jokes Liverpool will bid €300m for RB Leipzig's Naby Keita

Klopp jokes Liverpool will bid €300m for RB Leipzig's Naby Keita

Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl was also quizzed on Keita's future but remained adamant that he will not leave the Bundesliga club.

The Reds have already seen offers of £57m and £66m for the Guinean global turned down by the Bundesliga outfit who have made it absolutely clear he's not for sale.

Leipzig sporting director Rangnick recently stated that he believes the 22-year-old Guinea worldwide is being poorly advised and insists too many outside people are offering their thoughts on his future.

Hasenhuttl refused to confirm the existence of the clause and warned the Reds they "will not be the only one" club interested in bringing Keita in next summer.

"The chance [of him leaving] is null", he said during a press conference that followed a 1-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.

The Guinea worldwide proved that he could provide an attacking threat from the midfield last season, notching up a total of eight goals in his debut campaign with the Bundesliga side.

"At the beginning of the transfer period we said we would start the season with all our best players".

"I said for all the players it is very important to stay together as it's the first time we play Champions League and that is a new situation for every one of us". "It's 100% clear that Naby Keita will play this year in Leipzig".

"Until next summer, we'll keep [the door] closed and then we'll have a look".

The 22-year-old was one of Bundesliga's standout players in the 2016-17 campaign despite Keita only moving to RB Leipzig in a £12.75m deal from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg last summer. He knows this season will be fantastic for us.

Asked whether Keita has been affected by the speculation linking him with a summer move to Liverpool, he added: "He is even more focused on us and has more fun now than previous year".
