Trump help Afghan girls to participate in worldwide robotics competition

Joining a chorus of those who welcomed the reversal, his daughter Ivanka posted on Twitter "I look forward to welcoming this brilliant team of Afghan girls, and their competitors, to Washington DC next week!"

In the end, the girls were granted entry through "parole", a process by which United States Citizenship and Immigration Services may temporarily authorize otherwise ineligible visitors on humanitarian grounds or because it benefits the public.

The team of six Afghani girls were initially denied visas to the USA after twice making the 500 miles journey from Herat to the U.S Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The head of First Global, the organization hosting the competition, cheered the news in a statement Wednesday.

After a month of checking US State Department allowed them to take part in the competition.Girls are now eventually able to make their robot creation.

The girls wanted to show the world that Afghans could also construct a hand-made robot and they had been deeply disappointed by the initial rejections.

It was unclear why the girls were barred entry to the U.S.in the first place. He credited "the professional leadership of the U.S. State Department" for ensuring that all 163 teams from 157 countries, including a team of Syrian refugees, would be able to participate.

"When we heard that we were rejected we lost hope", said 14-year-old Sumaya Farooqi. They twice made a 500 mile trip from their Herat homes to the U.S. embassy in Kabul to ace their interviews and secure the visas, despite danger and extreme heat. "We applied again for the USA visa and we were rejected again".

The three-day robotics competition begins Sunday in Washington.

First Global was founded by Dean Kamen, the prolific inventor behind the Segway, to promote the value of education in science, technology, engineering and math.

For entering into United State in order to take participation in robotics competition one week visa is required but these girls twice made the unsafe journey to Kabul to be interviewed with the US Embassy, been and twice were rejected. Sestak said the State Department was a "star player" in the entire process of coordinating travel for the competing teams, but he had no direct knowledge of Trump's involvement.
