Controversial Trump adviser Sebastian Gorka leaves White House post

Controversial Trump adviser Sebastian Gorka leaves White House post

On Friday evening, a White House official said that Gorka, who served as an adviser on national security, had not resigned but confirmed that he no longer works at the White House.

A U.S. citizen born in Britain with Hungarian parents, Gorka worked as national security editor at Bannon's Breitbart news website, where he often warned of Islamic terrorism.

Gorka also was a staunch defender of President Trump's desire to impose immigration restrictions on refugees and residents of several majority-Muslim nations.

Bannon, Trump's former senior counselor, left the White House a week ago and rejoined Breitbart.

Sebastian Gorka has been speaking out in the days following his departure from the White House, but looking forward, he has a Star Wars analogy for what's ahead.

He did not specify who he meant were part of the "ascendant" group, but he seemed to be implying the "globalists", the faction opposed to the America First "nationalists", who were led by Bannon and of which Gorka was a leading member. In short, he was sacked, as many people predicted he would be following Steve Bannon's ouster from the White House. This time, it was Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Trump.

"This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week ..."

Every member of the White House arts committee also resigned over the issue.

In the mails, editor-in-chief Alex Marlow offers to do the "dirty work" for the fake Bannon, and promises to plot the exit of Ms. Trump from the White House before the end of the year.

Some Republicans said the timing of the announcements reflected the current state of the White House - new Chief of Staff John Kelly trying to instill more order even as the president remains the most disruptive force.

The official did not elaborate, but the statement suggested that Gorka had been fired. Since then, he has celebrated Trump's frequent warnings about the threat of "radical Islamic terrorism" and accused the Obama administration of being hamstrung by political correctness. Under Trump, DHS's task force to counter violent extremism shifted to refocus specifically on Islamic terror groups while putting fewer resources towards combating far-right domestic terrorism, with the assistance of Katharine Gorka.

The president spokesman on foreign policy was sacked on Friday following the firing of Steve Bannon and some folks are saying that this is a victory of the globalist and they include you in that group, over the so-called "America first".

Mr Gorka claimed he wore the medal to honour his late Hungarian-born father, who received the medal for fighting Hungary's communist rule.
