Islamabad refutes USA claim, says why would Taliban hide in Pakistan

In a response, Pakistani Foreign Minister Khwaja Mohammad Asif postponed his visit to Washington in the wake of Trump's serious accusations.

Abbasi, along with Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, will visit Washington to attend the UN General Assembly session in NY, the News International quoted the government sources as saying. That will have to change and that will change immediately'. For its part, the USA would very much like to get India involved in the Afghanistan campaign to help force the Taliban to the negotiating table.

Pakistan reacted sharply to Trump's scathing criticism and rejected his claims that Islamabad was sheltering terrorists. This particular remark took most committee members by surprise as they were under the impression that India was already using Afghanistan to plan subversive activities in Pakistan.

On Sunday, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry and the USA embassy in Islamabad released similarly-worded statements saying that her visit has been postponed at Pakistan's request until a "mutually convenient time".

The President went on to state, "From now on, victory will have a crystal clear definition, crushing ISIS and Al Qaeda to piece, preventing the Taliban from gaining control over Afghanistan, and stopping terror attacks against the U.S".

They agreed to strengthen cooperation in "facilitating peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan as well as promoting meaningful engagement between the three neighbourly countries", the release said.

For Pakistan, the message was unambiguous with words like "change of approach", "a break with the status quo", and "no partnership can survive a country's tolerance of militants and terrorists". The madrassas which represent the vast majority of Pakistani extremist viewpoints are dedicated to destroying American interests, and they won't quit even if we do.

Days after Donald Trump criticised Pakistan for nurturing terrorism, Pakistan on Tuesday suspended bilateral talks and visits with the United States, media reports said.

"Once the chairman provides the recommendations, the secretary will determine how to move forward and how many additional troops we will need to send", Manning added. Earlier Pakistan had requested rescheduling of Foreign Minister Khwaja Asif visit to Washington, who was expected there on August 25.

The two military commanders also availed the opportunity, discussing matters relating to regional peace and stability. Ms Curtis has reportedly played key role in formulating new United States strategy for South Asia.
