Majority of voters believe White House is in chaos

The majority of the registered voters surveyed said the President is not levelheaded - 71 to 26 percent - and 54 percent indicated they were embarrassed, not proud, that Trump is President. The data marked the lowest approval rating that the polling group had recorded for the president since he assumed office.

The nationwide phone poll of 1,125 American voters, conducted in the five days immediately after Donald Trump tweeted that he would reinstate the ban on trans people in the military, found 68 percent of respondents saying trans Americans should be allowed to serve and 27 percent saying they shouldn't.

A new report from The Trevor Project explains that their LGBTQ crisis hotline saw a dramatic spike in calls from transgender youth shortly after Trump released those tweets. Eighty percent of voters surveyed said they disapprove of the way Republicans are handling the issue, while 59 percent said Democrats are handling things the wrong way. "Profound embarrassment over his performance in office and deepening concern over his level-headedness have to raise the biggest flags".

The only two areas where Mr Trump is performing well in is 58 per cent view him as a strong person and 55 per cent believe he is intelligent.

In a Politico/Morning Consult poll that was also released on Wednesday, Trump's approval rating dipped slightly to 42%, down one point from the 43% who said they approved last week, but within the plus or minus 2 percentage-point margin of error. And in a bit of news that would likely irk a president seemingly obsessed with his predecessor, Rasmussen noted "Trump's overall approval numbers this week are lower than any Barack Obama received during his entire presidency".

The Quinnipiac University poll of 1,125 voters was conducted July 27-August 1. White men are divided 47 - 48 percent and Republicans approve 76 - 17 percent. It pointed out that 18 other countries - including Australia, Canada, Israel, and the United Kingdom - allow transgender people to serve openly in the military with "little or no impact on unit cohesion, operational effectiveness, or readiness".
