Microsoft Rolls Out New Surface Payment, Upgrade Program

Microsoft Rolls Out New Surface Payment, Upgrade Program

If you are a student and already busy as school is about to start, you can get yourself a Surface Book, Surface Pro or Surface Laptop. On the, uh, surface, the Surface Plus plan for individuals looks quite inviting: A new Surface Pro 2017, for example, only costs $34 per month for 24 months; Surface Laptops run $42 per month, and Surface Books $63 per month. A month later, the situation hadn't improved much, with Microsoft stating that the other colors would be available "later this summer".

The Surface Plus program will launch today at 12:00 pm EDT.

This also means the back to school push is starting to pop up for companies that offer the goods students need to get their schoolwork done.

The two plans, Surface Plus and Surface Plus for Business, are available at Microsoft.com or at Microsoft stores in the US.

With Surface Plus, you can pay off your device in monthly installments with zero percent interest for two years (and a 19.99 percent annual percentage rate after 24 months).

Make sure you have the Surface Dial connected via Bluetooth to your device.

The program also comes with device services and support through Microsoft's retail locations and a year of free in-store technical assistance. Businesses also will be able to upgrade their devices just after one year if they opt for the 24-month payment plan or after 17 months if they opt for the longer 30-month payment plan. The business version of the program also includes upgrade rights, with the timing of the upgrade depending on the length of the agreement.

Businesses can expand or reduce their device fleet mid-term. For an additional $8.25 per user per month, businesses can enjoy the ultimate productivity experience on Surface.

Device Protection: Surface Plus for Business offers peace of mind with the Microsoft Complete for Business extended service plan with accidental damage protection. You can keep multiple Surface devices in a single agreement.
