Toddler gives news anchor the runaround

Toddler gives news anchor the runaround

Viewers of ITN News were left cackling at their TV screens after a debate surrounding milk allergies quickly went downhill when a toddler clambered onto the desk in front of newsreader Alastair Stewart during an interview with her mum.

She "will do whatever she chooses to do for the next couple of minutes", the interviewer delighted in acknowledging.

Alastair Stewart found more than just his notes on his desk during Wednesday lunchtime's ITV News.

The hilarious incident is reminiscent of the interview with South Korean expert Robert Kelly, which was gatecrashed by his two young children.

Iris lurked around the edge of the desk of stunned newsreader Alastair Stewart, eventually climbing on top of the table and trying to high-five the anchor.

Viewers were delighted by Iris' behaviour. She attempted to get a grip from the side of the table, and even the back where Stewart Saturday. When the interview was over, and Stewart signed off the show, it appeared Iris had finally climbed to the top.

While previous year, This Morning hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes did well to keep straight faces after a toddler wet herself live on air.

The newscaster ended his segment by pitching the news' evening show by saying, "Mary Nightingale, I think, will have a more peaceful time at 6:30".

Stewart's colleagues saw the lighter side of the interview, too, congratulating him on his calm work during the show.
