Verizon Releases Android 8.0 Oreo For Pixel Handsets

Verizon Releases Android 8.0 Oreo For Pixel Handsets

In order to limit the damage due to rogue applications, Google has just announced a new device named security Play Protect. Hundreds of tests are needed to verify the Google apps that are pre-installed on each unit. This method works unlike the usual way of invoking the Assistant by holding the Home button as it is similar to Google Allo, but supports all third-party Android apps. Before downloading the new Pixel Launcher, the user needs to first uninstall the previous iterations of this app.

Users are recommended to ensure they download this update on a Wi-Fi connection and that their battery is fully charged before they begin to install it. With the Google Play Protect feature in Google Play, users will additionally get the option to manually check if their apps have certain issues and are safe for use or not. This site will tell us about the software present inside the phones and the security updates in it.

Google points out that for all certified devices they have Google Play Protect feature running out-of-the-box. Google has been taking extreme steps to curb the presence of malware affected content on its ecosystem, which also include the removal of malicious apps in batches. Google has also put out a full list of manufacturers, Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) which are certified as for Android. "This provides baseline protection against malware, privacy hacks and more", Google said in its blog post.

What will the Play Protect do?

Released last week, Android 8.0 Oreo brings with it a host of new features and upgrades.

The company hasn't confirmed an official release date but we're starting to see carriers confirm plans to deliver Nexus 6P Android 8.0 Oreo updates, a sign that things are progressing behind the scenes. Google says that their company will check more than 50 billion apps every day.
