Walker-Peters extends Tottenham contract

Walker-Peters extends Tottenham contract

"It's great to sign a new contract and commit my future to the club", Walker-Peters told Tottenham's official Twitter account.

The 20-year-old, who joined the club's academy in 2013, made his debut for the North London outfit on the opening weekend of the season.

But such has been the progress Walker-Peters has made over the last few months, Spurs may well decide against bring in a new player in favour of trusting Walker-Peters to do the job.

Highly-rated full-back Kyle Walker-Peters said he was "buzzing" on Wednesday after signing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur that ties him down until 2020.

The England youth global, an Under-20 World Cup-winner with England this year, progressed through the Spurs academy after joining in 2013.

The club didn't announce details on KWP's new contract, but you can expect he received a healthy bump in his pay.

The youngster was given his chance to start following first-choice right-back Kieran Trippier's ankle injury, sustained while on pre-season with Spurs.

City were trailing to Wayne Rooney's 200th Premier League goal when Walker was red carded but Pep Guardiola's side managed to escape with a draw thanks to substitute Raheem Sterling's equaliser eight minutes from time.
