Apple raised iPad Pro prices while we watched iPhone X launch

Apple raised iPad Pro prices while we watched iPhone X launch

It's not uncommon for Apple to adjust prices and refresh its lineup with updated devices, but these are the same iPad Pro models that Apple launched in June.

Some iPad Pro models will now cost you more; the 256GB iPad Pro 10.5 pricing has gone up to $749 to $799 while the 512GB iPad Pro 10.5 saw an increase from $949 to $999.

The 12.9in iPad has seen similar increases, with the 256GB and 512GB models seeing prices rise from £859 and £1039 to £919 and £1,119, respectively. The 64 GB models on these iPads are now at the same cost.

After unveiling a deluge of new products last night, Apple has chose to quietly increase the prices of some of its iPad Pro models.

You can read through our full guide for more information about what sets each model apart (and learn about the iPad Mini and standard iPad), but as an avid iPad Pro user I have a lot of good things to say. As for the 12.9-inch model, the 256GB tier now runs $949 while the 512GB variant maxes out at $1149.

We started to experience some level of cost pressure on the memory side particularly on NAND and DRAM. To offset that and actually do better than that, we had very good cost performance on other commodities.

Apple is one of the manufacturers contributing to the shortage: the three new iPhones that debuted yesterday, including the high-end iPhone X, need DRAM and NAND chips.
