"Dreamers" face potential deportation, after Trump reportedly decides to end "DACA"

Donald Trump, through his Attorney General, Jefferson Sessions, announced an end to the immigration protections given to children who were brought to the United States illegally and given legal status under the Obama administration.

"If President Trump chooses to cancel the DACA program and give Congress six months to find a legislative solution, I will be supportive of such a position", Graham said in a statement Monday.

The Presbyterian New England Congregational Church in Saratoga Springs has been welcoming undocumented immigrants to stay here since June.

"Many of them don't know any other home. Just the idea that they can take away this program it makes me angry", she said. Sessions has argued that it's the duty of Congress to write immigration law, casting aspersions on President Obama's choice to institute DACA in 2012 and whether the executive branch can make such policy under constitutional law.

"I stand with all the Dreamers, the 800,000 "DACA-mented" youth and their families, and will continue to support them as they fight for the right to achieve the American Dream of a better life for themselves and their families".

Trump had promised to get rid of DACA during his presidential campaign.

There are about 800,000 people who could be deported since they entered the USA illegally as children, ABC News reported.

Some of the undocumented immigrants, called "Dreamers", then began receiving work permits.

Mexico says it "deeply regrets" the Trump administration's decision to phase out DACA, program that shields young immigrants from deportation, and the Mexican government is urging USA lawmakers to pass a replacement. Protesters will gather at 4 p.m.at Cenntennial Park and march to the offices of Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker to urge them to defend DACA. Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson said he would file suit to to "halt this cruel and illegal policy and defend DACA recipients". Miami billionaire Mike Fernandez has pushed Curbelo to help arrange a meeting with House Speaker Paul Ryan to advocate for the program.
