Real Madrid get much-needed win, Atletico beat Sevilla to go second

Scroll through the gallery above to see how the rest of the Real Madrid players performed during their 2-1 win over Deportivo Alaves.

As expected, it was the visitors that dominated the ball in the early stages, but Alaves were a threat in the final third, with Munir's movement in the final third causing Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane problems at the heart of the Real Madrid defence.

The winless Alaves nearly leveled late when substitute Alfonso Pedraza twice hit the woodwork.

Ceballos took just 10 minutes to vent his recent frustrations and prove his worth to Real, cutting into the box off the left flank, riding a double challenge and sliding home the opener.

"I am happy for (Ceballos)".

"We have the chance to be able to change that quickly and we'll do it".

Ceballos received a pass from Marco Asensio, fought through a tackle, and shot just inside the post for the opener. Midfielder Enzo, 22, left Real's reserve team in the close season in search of first-team football at Alaves, where he has made two La Liga appearances so far.

The away side's next opportunity did not arrive until the 23rd minute, but Ramos could only head Cristiano Ronaldo's chipped free kick into the arms of waiting Alaves goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco.

However, he capped his league debut with a fine first-half brace, either side of Manu Garcia's goal.

The Spanish defender and set-piece hero recently turned provider against Real Sociedad, helping Borja Mayoral score by teeing him up with a scissor-kick.

They may be seven points off the pace, but coach Zinedine Zidane has urged his troops to remain calm, as Real Madrid look to mount a comeback following a series of poor performances at home this season.
