Anthem protest starter Kaepernick inks rich book deal

Anthem protest starter Kaepernick inks rich book deal

"We look forward to him joining the conversation with the NFLPA, the league and players coalition but I don't have any confirmation that he is planning to attend". The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday in Manhattan.

Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins had informally invited Kaepernick, who did not attend. A number of players followed Kaepernick's lead by taking a knee during the anthem previous year and this season. Instead, discussions surrounded around the National Football League and NFLPA working together to promote positive social change and addressing inequalities in society. Lockhart added the invitation was extended by the players and not the league.

The free agent quarterback has reportedly inked a book deal worth just more than $1 million with Random House imprint One World.

Kaepernick was an elite quarterback who had took his team to the Super Bowl in 2013 that ultimately lost to the Baltimore Ravens 34-31.

Kaepernick had reportedly been seen taking meetings at the offices of the publisher earlier in October, according to The Post.

Colin Kaepernick #7 and Eric Reid #35 of the San Francisco 49ers kneel in protest during the national anthem prior to playing the Los Angeles Rams in their NFL game at Levi's Stadium on September 12, 2016 in Santa Clara, California. Several teams have had to justify not pursuing Kaepernick, who threw for 16 touchdowns and ran for two more last season against four interceptions, while signing other clearly inferior options. Among other things, that grievance is seeking to dig into private communications of owners and executives over the past year, apparently in hopes of finding a smoking gun that proves teams worked together against him as a form of retribution for his protests during the anthem. But a league source told Yahoo Sports on Wednesday that there is an expectation from the NFL that Kaepernick's inclusion in talks will draw more attention from Trump.
