Boy leads mom, police on high-speed chase in his 2nd joyride

Boy leads mom, police on high-speed chase in his 2nd joyride

"It was very lucky no one was hurt", Highway Patrol Sergeant Tim Hoffman said, the AP reported. Cruisers blocked the vehicle from returning to the road and used intentional contact to stop the vehicle, which sustained incapacitating damage, as did one cruiser.

"One auto as gently as possible", answered the other trooper, presumably a supervisor.

The chase finally ended after about 45 miles when the boy slowed the vehicle down to avoid stop sticks, and a trooper nudged the auto into a mile post sign while the other troopers blocked the auto in.

Amazingly, this young boy has been in a high-speed chase with police before. Police went to the mother's home and, a short time later, other officers responded to a call about a auto driven by a small boy on I-90 in Cleveland in the high-speed lane with three flat tires, according to the report.

The hour-long chase started in Cleveland earlier Thursday morning. She said he took her auto from the driveway a little over a week ago.

According to the Cleveland Police Department, the boy left his mother's home on Hadley Road in Cleveland around 9 a.m.

Earlier this month, he was spotted in his mother's auto on Interstate 90.

"My ten-year-old stole his dad's auto and he's running from me", the mother told a 911 dispatcher.

Seconds later, another trooper can be heard asked about using "intentional contact to stop" the boy, prompting another trooper to allow it using "one vehicle as gently as possible", according to the dash cam video.

No charges have been filed.

"He's a good driver", the tow operator told News 5. "I have a 10-year-old myself and to look at how well this person drove is just unbelievable and everyone's so lucky that there was nothing tragic that happened". He was found later that day on Interstate 90 with three flat tires.
