Las Vegas shooting: Gunman Stephen Paddock 'notorious for abusing girlfriend in public'

The police official in Manila said Danley's trip back to the United States "was co-ordinated with Federal Bureau of Investigation authorities" and that she was returning to clear her name of any involvement in the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.

Authorities in the US, the Philippines and Australia were involved in the search for Danley, who travels on an Australian passport, CNN reported.

Marilou Danley's sisters say Paddock sent her to the Philippines two weeks ago and wired her more than $US100,000 ($A127,280) before he killed 59 people and wounded more than 500 as he fired from a 32nd floor casino hotel suite on Sunday night.

It said records showed Paddock was prescribed 50 diazepam tablets by a doctor on 21 June.

Police responded to the incident and found Paddock dead in his hotel room from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot. Paddock killed himself after.

"She was sent away", one of the women said.

The 62-year-old Danley was in a relationship with Paddock for a few years, reportedly meeting while she worked as a hostess at a Reno, Nevada casino. Officials have confirmed that Marilou Danley, 62, who lived with Paddock in Mesquite, was in the Philippines on Sunday, it was not known whether the money was for her or another objective.

On Sunday night, Paddock opened fire on concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

Immigration documents in the Philippines say that Danley first arrived there on September 15, departed on September 22 then returned three days later on a flight from Hong Kong. Her two sisters, who now live in Australia, were interviewed by Australia's Channel 7 network.

According to the New York Times, Paddock wired thousands of dollars (other reports claim it was as much as $100,000) to the Philippines some time recently. "Currently she is a person of interest".

There are still a lot of questions regarding the horrific Las Vegas shooting and its perpetrator, Stephen Paddock.

"[Danley] probably was even [more] shocked than us because she is. closer to him than us", one of her sisters said on a local news station.

Danley was named a person of interest in the early aftermath of the shooting, but officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department soon said they had spoken to her and she was cleared.

"She had nothing to do with this psycho", one man, who asked not to be identified, said.
