Ohio Supreme Court justice describes sexual history in controversial Facebook post

O'Neill, who had announced his intentions to run for governor of OH in October, made headlines on Friday when he issued a Facebook post intending to defend Minnesota Senator Al Franken, who apologized on Thursday after being accused of sexual misconduct during a USO tour in 2006.

In 2012, I was elected by over 2 million Ohioans to serve on the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Connie Pillich, who is also running for governor, agreed the justice should resign, tweeting, "there's nothing amusing about sexual assault".

Ohio Democratic Chairman David Pepper also commented on the quickly escalating controversy, calling it "just a awful post" that dehumanized women and trivialized an important national conversation about rape culture and sexual assault. He called the post "disturbing and misguided" and said he had no prior knowledge O'Neill was making it. In the process, O'Neill described his own sexual history, which he proclaimed included sex with "approximately" 50 partners over the course of the past 50 years.

In addition to defending Franken, O'Neill also stood up for Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

O'Neill previously served as an assistant attorney general in OH from 1984 to 1996 and founded his own private law firm, O'Neill and Brown.

The chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party, David Pepper, called O'Neill's post "terrible".

Republican Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor said it was a "crass post is ill-timed and dismissive at best".

Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor, the first woman to hold that position, also condemned the post. Franken's (D., Minn.) sexual misconduct scandal.

He also said his media representative resigned. He also appeared to show how he felt about the recent onslaught of reports of sexual misconduct against entertainers, executives and politicians by saying he was speaking up for "all heterosexual males" and that he was "sooooo disappointed by this national feeding frenzy about sexual indiscretions decades ago". Namely, Justice Bill O'Neill defended Al Franken and Roy Moore, all while publicly claiming he'd had sexual relationships throughout his lifetime with "approximately 50 very attractive females". He says the women included "a gorgeous blonde" with whom he "made passionate love" in a hay loft and a "drop dead gorgeous red head" from Cleveland. He even inadvertently said he had slept with a US senator!

O'Neill's Friday morning Facebook post had the 70-year-old Chagrin Falls resident talking about sexual encounters with 50 women.
