Saudi-led air strike kills 26 people in Yemen: medics

01 de noviembre de 2017, 18:01Sanaa, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) At least 21 people were killed today by an air strike on a hotel in the northern province of Saada carried out by the Alliance led by Saudi Arabia, which supports Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

It condemned the coalition's crimes in different parts of Yemen, including the recent brutal attack on Alaf market at Sahar district in the province of Sa'ada.

Saada, which borders the oil-rich Saudi Arabia, is the main stronghold of the Iranian-allied Yemeni Shiite Houthi rebels whom Saudi Arabia considers a major threat to the kingdom's national security and the global navigation in the Red Sea.

The Houthi group denies those charges and says it is conducting a patriotic resistance against outside aggressors in thrall to the West.

Last month, the United Nations added the coalition to its annual list of shame for killing hundreds of children in Yemen previous year.

They also planted tens of thousands of mines indiscriminately in the populated cities and villages of Yemen, leading to the killing of thousands of civilians, as well as planting mines in the Red Sea near the Saudi border.

There was no comment from the Saudi-led coalition on the Houthi claim.

According to a Houthi-run news agency, Sabaa, all the victims were civilians.

Impoverished Yemen has remained in a state of civil war since 2014, when the Houthis and their allies overran much of the country, including the capital Sanaa.

- The Saudi-led coalition began in 2015.

"Most of the injured people are in critical condition", he added.
