TJ Dillashaw calls out Demetrious Johnson after UFC 217 win

TJ Dillashaw calls out Demetrious Johnson after UFC 217 win

Speaking at the post-fight press conference for UFC 217, UFC President Dana White discussed a potential title fight happening between new bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and reigning flyweight champion Demetrious johnson. Dillashaw and Garbrandt used to be teammates, but Dillashaw left for greener pastures after becoming champion, which created bad blood and has led to this interesting matchup tonight.

Shortly after he landed a right hook which floored his opponent, before jumping on him and the referee was forced to call off the bout. "This isn't the end of Cody Garbrandt", he said.

In Dillashaw, we have a former-champion who was edged out on the scorecards in an absolute thriller against Dominick Cruz previous year - but apart from that title-loss, his recent form has seen him look nothing short of stellar.

"[The bantamweight title] should've been around my waist the whole time", Dillashaw said. I should've gotten a rematch after that Cruz fight, a very close split decision that I thought I won, and I did not get it.

"I was fighting No 1 contenders and I should still be the champion".

"Demetrious can't run from this one", Dillashaw said.

"The kid is fast". "But you can condition your chin". The better shape you are, the better chin you have. While the flyweight champ had his doubts about Dillashaw making the 125-pound limit, the newly reinstated bantamweight titleholder says that, while it will involve somewhat of a lifestyle change, it is a doable one considering his process to make 135 pounds now. "I am the champion, this is my belt". He got to pad himself and break his record.

"Listen, you can't be in a position where you're like, 'I want $2 million. I don't care how much this thing sells, I just want $2 million". "I'm coming for you".
