Hannibal Buress Fights With Cops, Gets Arrested, and It's Caught on Video

Hannibal Buress Fights With Cops, Gets Arrested, and It's Caught on Video

Popular comedian Hannibal Buress was arrested early Sunday in Miami on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly intoxication.

According to TMZ, Buress was released at approximately 6:00 a.m. Sunday after posting a $500 bond.

In a video posted online, Buress can be seen in handcuffs arguing with officers. At the start of the two-and-a-half minute clip, the comedian can be heard shouting, "Am I under arrest?" Though it's not inherently clear from the below video why he was picked up by the cops in the first place, the gossip outlet reports that he was picked up for trespassing. "Explain what Im detained for. What I am detained for?" According to a tweet from radio host Andy Slater, Buress was allegedly arrested after walking up to a cop and requesting that the officer call him an Uber.

The video, which went viral last night and sparked the #FreeHannibalBuress tag, raises some unanswered questions for MPD. Buress was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night in the neighborhood of Wynwood, which is now hosting events related to the worldwide art festival Art Basel. The officer says he refused, which caused Hannibal to become angry and belligerent. For what?' Buress yells in the video, handcuffed and leaning against a patrol vehicle. "I, then again, asked him to leave the area about five times".

Buress is best remembered for a 2014 stand up routine that made reference to persistent allegations of sexual misconduct against Bill Cosby.

Buress, 34, is a longtime standup comedian who has appeared in several TV shows and movies, including "Broad City", and "30 Rock".

"No, you're making it harder", Buress said.
