World War Z game announced for Xbox One

Over the years, The Game Awards has earned a reputation for surprising game reveals and announcements. The developers of Firewatch has started making a new game.

The Game Awards spent the night juggling between big game reveals and Award announcements. The game also now has an official date for its 1.0 formal release being December 20. Those included a new location for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, the Death Stranding project starring Norman Reedus, four-player horror GTFO, Russian post-apocalyptic quest Metro Exodus, ethereal creation game Dreams, and Egyptian exploration title In The Valley of the Gods. Although a few seconds of some sort of device and the words "Shadows Die Twice" with their logo was enough to get the internet buzzing.

Serving as both the final game of the Wii U (not the literal last game published for the system, that accolade goes to Cars 3: Driven to Win) and the launching off point for the Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the big victor of the evening, taking home the biggest Game of the Year award. As the trailer states it's, "Available now" releasing Thursday night.

Nintendo dropping another bombshell during the event with the announcement of the porting of the massively popular Bayonetta games for it's new console.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was an August release on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, praised for the adventure's intense delivery, its precise and effective audio design, and its nuanced treatment of a serious psychiatric disorder afflicting the game's main character.
