Egypt's Salah wins African Footballer of the Year prize

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

In early 2017, the forward was the central figure for Egypt as they finished runners-up at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 25-year-old played a pivotal role in aiding Egypt to book a ticket to the 2018 World Cup Cup in Russian Federation after 28 years of absence and finished runners up at the last Africa Cup of Nations.

Women's Player of the Year - Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria).
