God of War gets April 20 release date

God of War gets April 20 release date

Creative director Cory Barlog announced in a PlayStation Blog post Tuesday that "God of War" will launch exclusively on PlayStation 4 on April 20.

The first God of War game was released for the PlayStation 2 way back in 2005. Check it out below.

Developed by PlayStation in-house developer Santa Monica Studios, God of War presents a very different Kratos to the gruff, combo-building brawler most players are familiar with. I really am ecstatic that I can finally show you this attractive trailer we have been cooking up in the creative kitchens of Santa Monica Studio headquarters. Anyone that puts their money down for the game ahead of its release at participating retailers will get three legendary skins for Kratos's shield. You get everything in the Collector's Edition and Atreus' wooden Horse and Troll carvings.

If you feel like the trailer spoiled the story for you, don't worry: most of the fun of any God of War game comes from actually playing it. Bear in mind, all of these versions cost way more than the standard $59.99 for full price games so only consider getting them if you have extra money to spend.

The Deluxe Edition is a step down from the others and retails at $69.99 and comes with additional items listed on the image. The game will come in a Collector's Edition, a Stone Mason Edition, and a Digital Deluxe Edition, starting at $59. There's the Stone Mason ring, whose relevance will be made clear in the game, and talking Mimir head Keychain.

It also includes the following digital content: the Death's Vow Armour Set, the Exile's Guardian Shield, a Dark Horse comic, a Dark Horse artbook, and a dynamic theme.

The God of War Stone Mason edition will only be available in the United States and Canada.

Finally, available to addresses in the USA and Canada only, pre-order this Digital Deluxe beauty to get a sweet, exclusive, shiny, limited-run God of War physical pin.
