'Home and Away' Actress Jess Falkholt Passes Away

Home and Away star Jessica Falkholt is still in a critical condition following the horrific vehicle accident that killed her parents Lars and Vivian Falkholt, and her sister Annabelle. Annabelle died three days later, while Jessica remained in a coma at St. George hospital.

The 29-year-old actress and her family were involved in a fatal crash on Boxing Day, where her parents, Vivian and Lars, were instantly killed. Her sister, Annabelle, 21, passed away on December 29 as a result of her injuries and was buried with their parents on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital where Jessica was still in coma, friends and family surrounded Jessica from her hospital bed during and after the funeral, saying it was important she had support.

Last night, the Daily Telegraph revealed Jessica's extended family had made a decision to switch off her life support in the hope that she could be woken from her coma.

'Everything we have done and every decision we have made has been done with the advice of doctors and social workers. "Jess was a very private girl and while we're thankful for public thoughts and interest, we are just trying to honour what she'd want".

Vivian's younger brother, Paul Ponticello, spoke at the funeral service where he thanked people who ran to the family's aid.

Broadcaster Network Seven said in a statement last month: "Although her time on set was brief, once a part of the Home and Away family, always part of the family".

"Speaking about the accident, Jessica's uncle, Paul Ponticello, said: "[It's] a day that will be hard to erase from our memory", adding that Lars was known for being an excellent driver.

"Their lives ending on a highway makes absolutely no sense".

"They are together and always will be", he said.

The coronial investigation into the crash will focus on whether Mr Whitall was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
