Tom Brady throws a block as Patriots take on Jets

The New England Patriots cruised past the New York Jets 26-6 on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. Sure, that's cold, but this is also the 50th anniversary of the Ice Bowl, which was played in -15 degree weather with a wind chill of -48. As of now, they don't know who they will end up facing, but it will be the lowest seeded team remaining after the Wild Card round is over.

New England Patriots fans are going to want to mark Week 17 of the 2017 season down in their calendars as the day that Tom Brady threw a block by design on a running play.

The Patriots last lost a playoff game at home during the 2013 playoffs when the Baltimore Ravens defeated them 28-13 in the AFC Championship Game.

It's cold in New England right now.

The offense then hit a cold spell as the Jets harassed Brady and erased Gronkowski with a host of heavy coverages while he still had a full workload. Brady and the offense went to work, quickly moving 75 yards in just 13 plays to take a 7-0 lead on a 3-yard TD run by Lewis.

In the third quarter, K Stephen Gostkowski kicked a 21-yard field goal.

The Jets would add a field goal in the fourth quarter to make the score 24-6.

Lewis spearheaded the rushing attack against the Jets, finding the end zone once through the air and once on the ground. It's no secret that players love Bowles and his style of coaching and since they don't have to worry about him getting fired or anything at season's end, it should undoubtedly fire them up to win a big game for their coach when the odds are completely against them.

The Patriots have three players with 1,000-plus scrimmage yards in the same season for the first time in franchise history: Lewis, Gronkowski, Cooks.
