Wahlberg's pay 1500 times more than Williams'

This week it was revealed that Michelle Williams made an incredulous small percentage of her co-star Mark Wahlberg's pay for reshoots of All the Money in the World, following Christopher Plummer's recasting in the wake of Kevin Spacey's sexual assault allegations (and subsequent non-apology apology).

Wahlberg was named Hollywood's highest paid actor by Forbes previous year, raking in an estimated $68 million in the publication's 12-month scoring period.

Williams and Wahlberg are both represented by William Morris/Endeavor.

But on Tuesday, USA Today reported that Wahlberg's team negotiated his $1.5 million fee for the reshoot, and Williams, who is represented by the same agency, was not told about it. If true, that could be a violation of the union's contract if she wasn't working on a flat-fee deal. For the show, actor brothers Mark and Donnie Wahlberg head back to their hometown to join forces with older brother Paul in the hamburger venture. Much of the film's foreign sales hung on Wahlberg's attachment.

The Wrap offered a slightly different version of how the massive pay gap occurred, saying that Wahlberg, too, was eager to do the reshoots but his contract didn't require him to do necessary reshoots.

It comes after director Ridley Scott claimed nobody was paid for the re-shoot, in which Christopher Plummer replaced disgraced actor Kevin Spacey. He had the ability to negotiate since he already had taken a pay cut. Williams, a multiple Oscar nominee, told the publication that she did indeed agree to that. The film still made its December 22 release. Both actors had reshoots in their contracts and both actors were in Europe filming for approximately the same number of days. Nonetheless in these #MeToo times, this an embarrassing situation for Imperative Entertainment to be in, as well as WME as there's been a great call for gender equality in Hollywood. "She deserves more than 1% of her male co-star's salary", Ms Chastain tweeted.

Although several actors with small parts, including Timothy Hutton, had agreed to return for the reshoot for minimum pay, Wahlberg was not one of them, according to the sources.

The pay gap, which was first reported by the Washington Post back in November, has got people all riled up, including producer Judd Apatow who said it was "so messed up that it is nearly hard to believe".

Then, when asked if the actors didn't get paid either, he said: "No, they all came in free".
