LeBron James responds to Laura Ingraham's comments

LeBron James responds to Laura Ingraham's comments

James previously responded with an Instagram post containing similar sentiments.

Ingraham was all worked up over James' comments about Donald Trump, so she spent some time talking about why he should "stick to sports", the old, exhausted tagline that people use when they don't like what athletes have to say.

The four-time MVP addressed reporters at NBA All-Star practice Saturday, two days after Laura Ingraham of Fox News said that James should "shut up and dribble" in response to his criticism of President Donald Trump.

James and Golden State Warriors star Durant were criticised by Ingraham after the pair hit out at Trump in a video via Uninterrupted.

Laura's response to this was: 'This is what happens when you leave high school a year early to join the National Basketball Association, it is always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million per year to bounce a ball. The clip was from Champion's series Rolling With the Champion, which offers a platform for athletes to discuss social and political issues.

Ingraham's comments sparked considerable backlash online on Friday, leading the host to issue a statement explaining that the "shut up and dribble" line was meant as a reference to her 2003 book "Shut Up & Sing".

"The best thing she did that's gonna help me is create more awareness, so I appreciate her for giving me even more awareness", James continued. He and Durant additionally both expressed dismay over what they perceive as Trump's racism, with James saying Trump's comments are no longer a surprise, which is "laughable - and it's scary". "You either cave in to that notion, or you just chalk it up and say you know what, Imma paint over this God damn gate and make it taller", said James. So thank you, whatever her name is - I don't even know her name ...

James pointed out that Ingraham was incorrect for saying that he'd graduated from high school "a year early". "We've seen these schools and these tragedies happen in America and there's been no change to gun control", James said. We will not shut up and dribble. "That was definitely an ignorant comment". Ingraham said, becoming anxious that kids that look up to these athletes will become influenced by their opinions. ".Lebron, Durant, and every single NBA athlete is much more than just basketball players. I'm really proud of them".
