Open thread: How are you tuning in for the Olympic closing ceremony?

Technically, the Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony in South Korea has already taken place in the middle of the night - yet, because of the time difference, NBC is going to be broadcasting it a little bit later tonight.

The Pyeongchang Olympics closed with a performance by popular band EXO.

The K-pop artist's performance at the closing ceremony was followed by the Olympic flag handover ceremony, which PyeongChang Mayor Sim Jae-guk returned the Olympic flag to International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach, who later gave the flag to Chen Jining, the mayor of the 2022 Winter Olympics host city, Beijing. Speed skater Seung-Hoon Lee, who won a gold and silver at his third Olympics, was the flag-bearer for the host country while, notably, the unified flag for Korea, under which the North and South Korean athletes walked together in the opening ceremony, was carried on Sunday by a Games volunteer. A total of 92 countries have participated in the major global sport event, with the Norwegian team collecting most of the medals as result of competitions (39, including 14 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze medals) and the Russian team 17, including two gold, six silver and nine bronze medals. The cross-country skiers for the U.S. did so well. The US medals came across 11 sports. Team USA even added another gold medal to its collection.

The US won 23 medals, its fewest at a Winter Olympics since 1998, when it won 13. Sweden won gold, while the "Garlic Girls" of South Korea took silver and Japan took bronze.

The most decorated Winter Olympian of all time finished nearly two minutes ahead of Finland's Krista Pärmäkoski.

Gibbs spent part of her Sunday morning watching the four-man bobsled competition with Trump, the daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Despite losing out on its traditional sources of gold, the country won its second-highest total of Winter Games gold medals in Pyeongchang, after winning 14 in its home-turf Vancouver games in 2010.

From Lindsey Vonn taking bronze and becoming the winningest female alpine skier, to the men's curling team winning historic gold - it was quite a run for Team USA in South Korea.

Cha Min-kyu's silver in the men's 500, Kim Tae-yun's bronze in the men's 1,000, Kim Min-seok's bronze in the men's 1,500 and Kim Bo-reum's silver in the inaugural women's mass start, all from the long track, were prized wins for a country traditionally dominant in short track speedskating.

Speaking of Russian Federation, the nation's athletes finally have their first gold of PyeongChang, as 15-year-old Alina Zagitova edged teammate Evgenia Medvedeva for first place in the women's figure skating event.
