Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton step out in the same shoes

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton step out in the same shoes

As Prince Harry's bride Meghan Markle considers her options it is understood Prince William has been put forward as a candidate to give her away.

Meghan Markle looked radiant in a matching white coat and beret during her first official public appearance with the Queen of England for Commonwealth Day. And while many senior members of the Royal Family were on hand, from the Queen to Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, the former actress's ensemble called to mind another important figure in the family: the late Princess Diana.

Since announcing their engagement in November, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been attending quite a few events together, with the official ones really amping up recently.

Last week the former United States actress apparently broke royal protocol when she hugged a 10-year-old girl during her visit with Prince Harry.

Following a performance by singer Liam Payne, Prince Harry was seen briefly raising his eyebrows at his fiancee, prompting her to crack up laughing.

Meghan Markle's going to the chapel and she's gonna get married.

He went on to highlight the Commonwealth's theme for 2018 - Towards a Common Future - telling the congregation "we have a shared history but more importantly we have a shared future". Our best bet is that Princess Eugenie's removed status (she's eight in line for the throne, rather than say, first or second) might have something to do with it.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Meghan might find herself walking down the aisle on her big day in May alongside Prince William.

After the Commonwealth Day services at Westminster Abbey ended, the Queen and other members of the Royal Family met those who participated in the day's affair.

She was greeted by dozens of eager fans, and one particularly excited young girl who couldn't wipe the look of surprise off her face after the Monarch accepted her posy.
