Smallville's Kristen Kreuk denies being part of NXIVM sex cult

Smallville's Kristen Kreuk denies being part of NXIVM sex cult

In a wild story fit for Hollywood, two of its female stars allegedly were a part of a real-life sex cult.

Former Smallville actress Kristin Kreuk broke her silence on Thursday, March 29, about her involvement in Nxivm, a women-only group in upstate NY. NXIVM was a self-help group that has recently been labeled a cult.

According to Buzzfeed, NXIVM leader Keith Raniere was arrested by the FBI Sunday in Mexico and charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and conspiracy to commit forced labor.

Kreuk set the record straight on Thursday, insisting she had no involvement in a secretive subgroup within NXIVM called "Dominus Obsequious Sororium", (DOS) in which women were allegedly coerced into serving as sex slaves to their male masters. Sarah Edmondson, a Canadian actress who has spoken openly about her experience trying to leave the cult, supported Kreuk's statement.

Raniere was ultimately found staying with several women in a luxury gated community in Puerta Vallarta where villas can run US$10,000 (A$13,015) a week to rent, investigators say.

The pair were members of Keith Raniere's group NXIVM (pronounced nexium), in which women were forced to sleep with Raniere and forcibly branded near their groins, the New York Post reports.

Kreuk said that these accusations were false. During my time, I never experienced any illegal or nefarious activity.

"Thank you to all the fearless women who have come forward to share their stories and expose DOS; I can't imagine how hard this has been for you". She brought Mack into the group, who worked as a publicist for the sex cult in 2007 and 2008. The IEC did not just remained, but even was the author of a insane idea - the actress suggested to brand all women in the organization and to burn on their skin the initials of her and Renira.

Kristin Kreuk, another "Smallville" actress, has also responded to reports about her previous involvement in NXVIM.

Kristin Kreuk is accused of luring unknowing victims into the organization.

Following that report, Raniere allegedly left the U.S. for Mexico, according to the Daily Mail. A whistleblower from the group, Frank Parlato, believes that Mack will be arrested in connection with the group. The group was originally based in Albany, New York, but Raniere fled to Mexico past year. The newspaper had published an article in October 2017 that detailed the group's abusive behavior by five former members.
