Chandrababu Naidu to meet opposition leaders in Delhi today

On Tuesday, Naidu met a host of leaders in the Parliament's Central Hall from Congress' M Veerappa Moily and Jyotiraditya Scindia to NCP's Sharad Pawar, as well as some leaders from the NDA allies, such as Harsimrat Kaur and Apna Dal's Anupriya Patel.

Chandrababu Naidu arrived in New Delhi to intensify pressure on Center to provide special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu met a number of leaders from several parties on his visit to the Parliament.

The chief minister also had discussions with Hema Malini, Manohar Joshi and Jayant Sinha of the BJP and shared images of his meetings on his Twitter profile. "In fact, Naidu has become a loner and nobody is interested in meeting him", he said.

He said that the way the bifurcation was being done was unscientific and painful for the people of Andhra Pradesh. Even though the Modi government has the numbers to remain safe, Opposition parties are pushing for the motion to send a message to the Centre. After the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) left the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government over the issue of grant of special category status to Andhra Pradesh, nearly all the opposition parties have made a decision to join hands to fight the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections together.

Javadekar said, adding that the government would keep on aiding the state in its development.

The Modi government has been "magnanimous" to the state to the extent that many states have asked it why it was giving so much to one state, he said. "Five crore people in Andhra Pradesh are annoyed and agitated and they are feeling that injustice has been done earlier and now the same betrayal has happened", Naidu said in an interview with Mint on Wednesday. "The Congress is exclusively responsible for the plight of Andhra Pradesh". We never attack any region or people.

Narrating incidents that led to TDPs exit from NDA and Modi govt, Naidu told national media that BJP had played a dirty game of playing with YSRC opposition, though it was sailing with TDP all along.

Naidu also answered questions pertaining to the allocation of funds and the Terms of Reference of the 15th Finance Commission.

"You fought against Congress and now you are meeting with Congress leaders", he said and added that he was pained by the fallout.

Following the Demand for the Special Status, the YSR Congress on March 16 announced a "no-confidence" motion against the government.
