Iran's Rouhani warns Trump would regret withdrawing from nuclear deal

Iran's Rouhani warns Trump would regret withdrawing from nuclear deal

The rial had fallen to 47,000 to a dollar in early February from about 36,000 in mid-September on concerns about Iran's agreement with world powers to curb its nuclear program in return for the lifting of most worldwide sanctions.

NAN reports that in January, Trump gave the Iran nuclear deal a final reprieve but warned European allies and Congress they had to work with him to fix "the disastrous flaws" in the pact or face a us exit. Trump extended sanctions waivers in January but has declined to re-certify the nuclear deal.

Those sanctions would not involve measures that were lifted under the nuclear deal but would target individual Iranians that the European Union believes are behind Iran's ballistic weapons programme and its support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The Iranian president added that during the past two years after the signing of the nuclear deal with Iran (the JCPOA), the other side has instigated Iran to break its commitments in the JCPOA, but they did not know that Iranians are smart.

"Our relations with our neighbors will be friendly relations", Rohani said.

Iran calls its fighters in Syria the defenders of the shrine as it says the forces are there to protect the Zeinab Shrine, a holy site near Damascus.

He said it was not yet clear who had carried out the attack. "Some only look at one side of the coin", he said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the country's conflict, said 14 fighters were killed, including Syrian army officers and Iranian forces.

"If any country's airplanes dare to near Iran's airspace, the air defense will definitely give a crushing response", Esmaili said.

Iran's latest threats expose crucial flaws in the Iran deal that the Trump administration is seeking to address, nuclear expert Mark Dubowitz told the Free Beacon.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had promised a "big price to pay" for the suspected chemical attack on Douma.

On Sunday, Salehi was quoted as saying that Tehran needs only four days to ramp up its uranium enrichment at the Fordow nuclear plant, if the U.S. withdraws from the deal. Work already has begun on this front, the official said. However, some analysts have suggested that the nuclear agreement would likely collapse altogether if the USA decides to pull out. The daily also stated that this is the first time the Iranian government makes a decision like this since it agreed to curb its nuclear activity in 2015 in exchange for the removal of nuclear sanctions. Many believe the United States will withdraw from the deal.
