Line-up: Clyne, Klavan, Ings and Solanke start for Liverpool vs Everton

Tom Davies of Everton is challenged by Georginio Wijnaldum of Liverpool during the Premier League match between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park on April 7, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

Ings was part of a front three including Sadio Mane and Dominic Solanke, with Mohamed Salah (groin) not risked ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarterfinal second leg at Manchester City, with Liverpool leading 3-0.

Everton missed two glorious chances late on through Seamus Coleman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and in the end Liverpool were holding on for a point.

DANNY INGS has been handed his first Premier League start in nearly three years, while Nathaniel Clyne has also been picked by Jurgen Klopp to face Everton.

However, Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum believes that a game holds more value if Liverpool plays fierce League rivals Manchester United rather than local city rivals Everton.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius produced an even better save to tip Yannick Bolasie's curling shot around the post before Pickford did the same to deny James Milner.

The opening stages of the second half were dour, and the only flashpoint came when Wayne Rooney was substituted off before the hour mark, looking extremely frustrated as he left the pitch.

In the 23rd minute, Yannick Bolasie nearly gave Everton the lead as he cut in from the left only to see his curler tipped behind by Loris Karius in goal for Liverpool.

Tosun went close again on 87 minutes but his header off Theo Walcott's cross failed to trouble Karius.
