Suspect arrested after officers thwart robbery in progress

Linden police spokesperson Constable Takalani Matumba praised the officers who arrested the man.

According to police, the suspects waylaid five victims with machetes, tying them before stealing their property.

The name of the youth was not released due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Officers learned that Fulton and two 17-year-old male juveniles came over to the victim's house to smoke cannabis; the victim knew one of the three individuals prior to the incident.

Kingsly Doshier, 17, of Little Rock was taken into custody around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on one count of capital murder as well as two counts of terroristic act, records show.

Fulton was taken to the DeKalb County Jail. Berthold Police Chief Al Schmidt says he had stopped the vehicle for reckless driving and it turned into a pursuit.

Fulton, 18, of the 2100 block of Henning Lane, was free on a signature bond when police say he robbed a DeKalb resident of marijuana, money and a speaker.

As the investigation continued, detectives discovered that the victim's pocketbook was stolen during the robbery and someone had used her financial card at several different locations after her death.

DCOP Mensah said the police strategised mounted surveillance on the suspects, who were on board a Pontiac Vibe cab and Sprinter Benz bus.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225, text 222973 (abbypd) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
